This practice is in accordance with guidelines from the Linguistic Society of America (LSA), which states, “Research participants have the right to control whether their actions are recorded in such a way that they can be connected with their personal identity” and recognizes that ownership and attribution of language use by speakers is a key part of research ethics in our field.
